The Water Blues

The following photos were taken late in the summer of 2006 at Reggio Calabria, Italy, located on the toe of the boot, across from the island of Sicily. Reggio Calabria is the oldest and largest city in Calabria and dates back to the eighth century B.C. The blue waters on the coast are very distinct and often show different shades of blue. The Canon 20D EOS did the magic; however, with enough light and such blue water, any camera will do the magic.
Photo Tip: I cannot emphasize enough how important light availability is when taking photographs. However, do not be fooled by the noonlight—it is too bright if there are no clouds in the sky. During sunny days, my best photo results were in the early morning or late afternoon after 16:00 hours.
So next time, do not blame your camera like I used to.
