Time to Give it Back - Old Green Lamp

Will next generations value old family articles the same way we value ours?

But then there might be no articles to value. Do you think we are going to keep a broken iPod or a broken lamp? No, of course not; we will throw it away and buy a new one.

This was not the case back then, where I grew up [in Sepopol, Poland]. I recall only one set of dishes and cutlery, the same furniture, and the same kitchen table. Now we have a cup for every type of coffee, a different cup for tea, a different set of dishes for different occasions, furniture to match our bedroom walls—you name it. Back then, for us, one cup had multiple functions.
The photos attached are of the old bedside lamp we used to have back at home. My sister Mira was fortunate to travel to Poland and bring it back. Can you believe that even after 20 years, that lamp was still there? This is just an ordinary lamp (very good quality), made in Poland. It is not an ordinary lamp for us. This lamp brings back old-time memories and good times when we were growing up. Oh well, it belongs to one person now — Mira.
