This is an Angolan Black and White Colobus [Colobus angolensis] I photographed at the African Lion Safari in Cambridge, Ontario. Firstly, if you are visiting Southern Ontario in Canada, please make a stop; you will not be disappointed. The zoo has evolved and is better than ever. Very entertaining for both kids and parents, or adults in general.
Exhibits include a bus ride through to see all the wild (dangerous; you can be eaten if not protected) animals, birds of paradise, Asian elephants, and many more attractions. I was a little skeptical about the price of the entrance ticket at first because I had been there a few years ago, but to my surprise, it was worth the money. I need to find out more. Just Google the African Lion Safari Zoo to get more information. What do I know?
And now back to the monkey. The Angolan Black and White Colobus monkeys are mainly leaf-eating African monkeys, so don't worry; they will not attack unless you enter their territory. They occupy primary and secondary lowland forests and wooded grassland, the habitats of Angola, Zaire, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Kenya, and Tanzania in Africa. Note also that the couple will have a single offspring that is born completely white. The last interesting fact about these monkeys (there are probably more) is about their hands. This monkey's name "colobus" is derived from a word that means "mutilated one", because of their reduced thumbs compared to other monkeys.
To conclude, just one more face is here. ~ Anna
