Too bad; this would have been such a nice photo of the Great Blue Heron; instead, I got both the heron and the duck in the background. Photo bombed! That weekend, when we went biking, we saw seven herons at once at our local McKenzie Marsh. In addition, there were two White Egrets hanging out on the back of the marsh. Currently, they are not regulars at the marsh, so they are probably stopping by to rest. Does this mean fall is around the corner?
All the good stuff is always on the back of the marsh, and it is also private property, so access is denied. Maybe one day someone will have the idea to build a wooden boardwalk around the marsh, but for now it is just wishful thinking. It's almost like all new life is going on out there; even the osprey has its own tree. He can be seen fishing from time to time, as per my earlier published post. Well, enjoy this Great Blue Heron in action and the duck hunting for food.
