Do Not Litter Guard, the African Pie Crow

During our trip to the African Lion Safari in Cambridge, Ontario, we met this fellow bird: the African Pie Crow [Corvus albus]. We learned about this interesting crow species during the Birds of Paradise show, right after the Oh, Canada national anthem was sung by the parrot twice.
This crow is a native resident of eastern and southern Africa, but as you see, you may be wishing that you had them around your place. This crow is a lookalike of the American Crow, except for the white belly and white patches of feathers on their shoulders.

The African Pied Crows are extremely intelligent birds and can be easily trained. This means that they live in captivity, and they can actually live longer when in captivity as pets, up to 20 years as opposed to 6–8 years. A hand-raised African Pied Crow can speak and mimic sounds with very high accuracy. They can also be trained to be "Do Not Litter Guards," just like the one we saw at the zoo.
