Nature's Architecture and the Architect: Bald-Faced Hornets

This is what we found during our hike: a nest. This nest belongs to some Bald-Faced Hornets. Click on this link to find out more. I will have to do a bit more research. However, if you observe the photos, note that the whole nest is hanging on the 1/4-inch branch—what a risk! But that also means it is not heavy, but it could be. Note the location in case of severe wind—again, what a risk! This is such a nice piece of work in such a risky environment.
