Archiving and photo restoration were once a little project of mine. The little project turned into an almost 5-year project, where I scanned over 3000 old family photos that, with time, were aging and needed to be preserved.
How did it all start?
Well, in 1999, for the first time, I discovered Adobe Photoshop, which came with my HP scanner. Soon as I found out what kind of cool stuff I was able to do with old photos using Photoshop, I got a local photo restoration business going, and I think I ended up restoring about 200 photos in total for friends, family, and local Aurorans. Eventually, that became dormant once I got more involved in photography. Today I decided to post a photo that was taken by my dad with his first SLR camera of my sister Mira and me. I am not going to tell you who is who in the photo and ask you to take a guess. It would be fun to find out if you can match the face to my blog.

That's excellent. I've been doing the exactly same thing this week-end with a bunch of really old pictures of my familly, except that I haven't scanned them myself : I've give them to be scanned.
Take care,
David
You're the one of the left because you're already arranging leaves for your future in photography. :D
Hugs, JJ
It's amazing how many people get it right.
Your on the left :)
I really need to scan my old pictures as well, but find it easier to photograph.
My guess - left?
3 out of 5 say "left" - I have to be the opposit and say "right"... :-)
Nice post idea!
btw: Thanks for all your comments on my site. Is the comment form there remembering you each time you are there? For a while people were saying that they had to fill it in each time they commented. I thought it was now working the way I wanted, but yesterday I got an email question about it again.
Thanks!
Ok I won't do like everybody else and I chose the person who is at the right of the picture.
Here is how I've made my choice : on your blog entry "Photo preservation tips", there is this old picture where we can see two people. Maybe it was you on the left... So I think that the person on the left looks like the person on the right of the picture of this post.
Ok this is a bit complicated, but it is a science ;-)
this is really nice keep up the good work.
Wow! 3,000 old photos
scanned! BRAVO!
I have just done a
couple dozen so far.
But my older brother
who has all the family
photos from before I
was born and maybe up
through my first 10 years,
says he is going to start
scanning and sending them
to me. I'm really looking
forward to seeing those!
As for which child you
are in that photo, I'm
going to guess the younger
one, just because I like
the funny expression on
her face.
Thanks for sending me the link for this post: it is great!
Ok, let me concentrate...hummm...you are the baby on the right (our right), with darker hair. I say this because:
1- I know you have darker hair than your older sister.
2- even if I didn't remember the previous fact; I would still say it is you because your hands are clasped (giving the impression that you like to work with other things rather than nature itself - as opposed to your sister who is holding a flower/plant), you are frowning (which indicates that you are questioning something...indicator of wanting to know more). Did you had dropped the flower/plant? Cause if you did, perhaps you wanted your dad's camera! lol...
3- this baby is plump. I still remember the 6kg lol.
Let me know the results!
Now I am going to your next link!
Cheers
I am actually happy that I got right lol :).
Yeah, I know some cases you are referring to; for example: I was born with black hair, then when I was 2 my hair turned almost blond until I was 6. Then it turned brown :).
LOL LOL I know, people just think that you are cute and then hold you and kiss you, and grab your cheeks...need I say more lol?
I am glad you were able to cut the weight down! I am also focused on maintaining my weight on the proper level LOL...
This was great, Anna! Thanks :).
Cheers
So you another person I know when hair color changed, that is interesting. I was going to say that shampoos have big effect, however, you were only 6 year old - so this is definitely not the factor. Oh well, may be genetics.
Well you were really cute baby!
Anna :)
"yes I have been kissed, pinched you name it, may be that is sometimes I run away from my husband - he does the same, lol, things just don't change." - LOL LOL LOL that is a good one LOL...so you run away from your hubby? It must be funny...well, you are right: some things never change.
"So you another person I know when hair color changed, that is interesting. I was going to say that shampoos have big effect, however, you were only 6 year old - so this is definitely not the factor. "Well you were really cute baby!" - thanks again *blushing*...you were a cuuuteee one yourself; so I dare saying that we are quite a pair lol...
Cheerio
You are most welcome; and yes: to conclude, I agree with you...babies are all cute :D! I just love them :)!
Cheers
