Moon Photography: Nothing Like a Good Night for the Moon Photo Shoot

After a few days of rain and high winds, the skies finally cleared out, and there's nothing like a cloud-free sky with a very bright half moon. There is not a full moon yet; however, a few more days and the sky will be illuminated. Let's just hope for good weather here in Aurora, Ontario. Well, I haven't taken moon photos for a while now, but once I saw Bob's latest moon photography, I was getting impatient with the weather. I think (I'm still learning to map it properly) that the big hole in the middle of the moon closer to the shadow is the Copernicus crater.

I'm looking forward to the moon shots too. I have only once tried shooting the moon, but it took me so long to find a nice spot and when I was finally ready the moon was hidden by a cloud.

Good luck with the shoot :)

Hi JJ, oh we got some wind back again today even though it was nice warm day - I saw some leaves above my head, and was thinking they must be yours, lol. The funny thing is - it never know. Anna :)

Susie, welcome to my blog and thank you for your comment. The photo is now on. Let me know what camera you have, and I can help you to get some images of the moon if the camera is capable of spot metering. Anna :)

Anna,

Great shot!!! The moon was in the sky during the day Sunday and I watched a jet fly above its white image leaving its trail. It was a beautiful sight.

Hugs, JJ
Anna, LOL on the leaves. Could have been!!!

Oswegan thanks for comments and of course the visit. I have 100-400mm telephoto lens to take the moon shots. Sometimes I use it as binoculars to, it is handy when I have to scout for birds in the bushes. Anna :)

Anna,

Such a gorgeous moon!!! I am not even going to say what feelings it raised in me...too romantic lol!

I won't even share the Portuguese weather...ok, I will: 28ºC! It's hot and sunny...

I loved the way you expressed your not having dreams: it was like a realistic painting!

Cheers

On the left side of your site is a photo of a person standing in front of the horizon. I love it! It depicts life and the challenges it brings. Yet, to those who will persevere and tackle such head-on, the rewards are enormous! And I kid you not!

Again, i absolutely love the pic! And I kid you not!
Praise God! Just yesterday night I was dicussing with my husband that I was going to show him you web page cos he is a photographer and he loves taking photos, so expect us soon.
Anna thanks for sharing the story, it so touching and definitely a lesson learnt heart.

Your Moon shots are getting Grrrrreat, and you now know some craters as well, impressive.

Hi Bob, thanks for the comment, btw this is the only sky object I can take photo of, lol, but I am waiting for this moment one day that where one of the craters will show some activity or new crater will emerge. I know what you mean about the craters being better. I think that when you have half moon or shadow it makes it better. That is why I like taking pictures every time even if it is the same every time, because shows different effect. Thanks again. Anna :)
