We Are Family Of The Bearded Dragons

Another beautiful Christmas Season is over. I almost forgot how to blog. It's been 7 days since my last post. However, there's nothing like spending time with family. I made my Santa appearance twice. One for my cousin's daughter and one for my godson. The one-year old godson almost kissed me, and he wasn't scared at all. The 3-year-old girl was a bit scared, but then she warmed up to Santa. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of my appearance this year. My other godson and my niece, my sister's kids, were sick, so we paid them a visit after Christmas. We were very lucky to have nice, no-snow weather, as it allowed us to travel from one family to another.
So, what you see in the photos are Bearded Dragons, and no, they are not mating. They are just comfortable enough to enjoy the warm light and each other's company. These are my sister's pets. I think she breeds them—what a hobby to have! I think you have met her other pet, the Professor, that I photographed a while ago. Note: I had to clean up the images a little bit as the photos were taken through the glass.

Susanne, thanks for your nice comment, and you are right, they are a bit scary pets, and not sure if I would want to have them as pets - I stick with my beta fish, lol. Susanne no problem, and wishing you Happy New Year too. Anna :)

Hey Jaya nice to you see here, thanks for the wishes and same to you too - all the best. Anna :)

Hey Bob thanks, and I remember that, may be one day you can get some - myself I pass. I have difficulty to actually hold something like that, lol, I rather photograph them instead. Since these dragons need light there was no need for flash, and the light itself wasn't that strong, so it made this photo look good. However, the photo was taken through the glass, so I had to clean up the blue background a bit. Anna :)

Hi Anna…

So you tell us of your Santa story, Santa wears a beard, and then you tell us of the Bearded Dragons, the theme is beards? :)

Beautiful animals, I am glad you told us they are not mating or I may have felt like a voyeur :) LOL LOL

Photography through glass can be very challenging….
So much fun you make, Anna. What a pleasure to know you just a little bit through our blogs. May you be blessed with a very prosperous New Year!

What great shots! Although I am not a fan of lizards, I can appreciate their purpose for being on this planet with me. These images conjure up feelings of desert, sun and warmth to me, which is a great place to "visualize" when I'm feeling cold from this winter.

Nice photos, Anna! I sort of remember holding one of these long ago and they are actually quite tame and soft, I think. Like me, they are not at all as "dragony" in feel and personality as they are in looks. LOL!

JB yes Singapore was really nice, but boy hot and humid. Yes I will eventually get the killdeer to my post, and I did check out your meerkats - very cute and funny photos of them. I will go back and comment later. Thanks, Anna :)

Hi Max, thanks for the concerns, yes they are now better. We visited them after Xmas, and they looked much better. We got these cold and flu bugs everywhere this season, there was always someone that was sick. I got mine before Xmas and luckly cleared out in time for shopping.

Yes Max I probably figure you will see it differently, but hey I had to insert quick disclaimer just in case some of visitors thaught they are mating, lol.

Thanks for commenting, and I will see you around. If you are reading this your resolution tag is now out, check out the latest post.

Cheers, Anna :)

DSM thank you so much for your kind wishes, and I will see you in the new year 2008. Anna :)

LS wow you are paying attention when reading my posts, lol, kidding aside, thanks for seeing like that, I didn't even notice.

So you thaught they were mating, I thaught the same, lol.

Yes photography through glass is challenging, especially at the zoo, but then what would you choose a bad photo or bear charging at you, lol.

Hey thanks for visiting, and if you are reading this check out my latest post, I gave you little mention and a link to your blog - there will be more in the future, got to start somewhere.

Anna :)

Barbara nice to see you again, am I also not a big fan of them too, however, nice to see them once in a while, and like you said it is nice to see them like that while we are enjoying the cold and snowy winter time. Thank you for visiting, and commenting. Anna :)
myonlyphoto said…
Hi Will, you are right they are quite tame and soft, and they don't look like that. Well someone has called them dragons, but now that you said, they look more like aligators to me, lol. Thanks for your comments, and check out the windmill post, I gave you little acknowledgment. Anna :)

John Maslowski, thank you for your kind visit to my blog and your comments. My sister said that once someone buys one, then there is second one and third one, and people start to set up big tanks for them. They are fun to watch and have them as pets, however, never liked the feeding time. Thanks again for your comment, Anna :)

Dick welcome to my blog, and no problem, and I will see you around. Anna :)

Hello Anna!

I am so glad that they are much better *relieved face*! It is a mess when kids get sick (kids and ancient people, we never know what can happen) *nodding*.
You were sick before Xmas? You didn't tell us...did you? If you didn't, I totally get you: I am also like that :)!

LOL LOL oh, yes...many could think that the cute dragons were mating lol :).

It's my pleasure, dear :D. You've completed it already? Oh my...I am on my way :D!

Cheers

They are actually very attractive, Anna, for LIZARDS! They do have a nice golden color.

Our nephew's mother-in-law has a giant iguana named "Ziggy," who eats a ton of lettuce. I have to say, I admire her for her ability to love Ziggy in all his scaly splendor, lol. :)

These photos of the bearded dragons are beautiful. They really represent the character of the animal. These are really common around here, as well as the blue tongue lizards. Do you get any of those where you live?

Hope you had a great Christmas, and wish you a great 2008,

David Webb
myonlyphoto said…
Thanks Lynda. Lizards are quite attractive. I was just thinking about the skin texture versus texture photos you take, next time I will try may be I can capture and learn how to do them better. They are in fact quite soft. Thanks for commenting, Anna :)
myonlyphoto said…
David, thank you for your comment. I guess where you live you don't have to spend money on lizards. Here in Canada, no tropics here, too cold for any type of lizard. The only place we can see them is pet stores and zoos. They are fun to watch in captivity, but I am not sure if I will be confortable when they around me moving freely, lol. Thanks again, Anna :)

anna,

i like all your photos! but the bearded dragon reminds me of iquana's we saw in miami several weeks ago. it was mating season and there were several large males who had turned a bright red for the occasion...
myonlyphoto said…
Hi PetMon, thank you for your comments and welcome to my blog. That is an interesting fact about the iquana and mating habits. Thanks for sharing, and btw by all means you can take the dragon photo. BTW as I mention on your blog, I linked to your site also. Thanks for linking to me. Appreciated. Anna :)
