Moon Photography: Moon Reflections

Again, the sky did not work in my favour or Bob's favour from Blackholes & Astrostuff. It was overcast to observe the Geminid Meteor Shower on December 13–14, 2007. It was clear the next day, on the 14th, but I guess I looked up at the sky too late. However, I had more time to try something new in my blog post, so enjoy this Full Moon animation (not so full, as it is actually hard to catch the exact Full Moon) taken November 23, 2007 at 7:46 p.m. over Aurora, Ontario, Canada. Thanks to Kriz Cpec from Kriz Cpec Photo Blog and Roger from Idaho Daily Photo Blog for great how-to tips. It worked, as you can see.

Enjoy!

~ Anna

Thanks Lynda, and I absolutely agree, and it is easier to remember those little things as opposed to study all at the same time. Anna :)

Digitalshuttermania, thank you so much for your nice comment, and I wanted to say that I like your fireworks photos a lot too. Anna :)

Hi! I can't help myself on this one. I'm over the moon on this great shot. The animation gives it a dreamy feel to it all. I could watch it all day long.

All the Best

This is a really nice photo, too bad it's not that easy to get a photo like this across real water! :)

I'll have to try and get out to see the moon again soon. Last time I tried to get photos, there was too much light around and so they didn't turn out very well.

Cheers,

David

Too cool Anna, send me by email what you did! I got a shot of the 37% full Moon last night, kind of cool has a frosty covering, probably post Thursday, too bad about the Geminids, I couldn't get a shot either, clouds and snow.

That came out really neat, Anna! Way too cool!

This is absolute a great idea to do pictures like this! Congratulations, Anna. I like it...

Peter same here, even I sit for sometimes and click on this post to look at it. It really does put you into dreaming mood, and over the moon, lol. Thanks again for your comments, Anna :) and laughs.

Hi David, you are right, it is not that easy to get moon like that over the water. I saw it once, but I had no camera around.

David, not sure what camera you have and lens, but if you have good zoom, you should try to adjust your metering mode to focus on the moon light only, see my earlier post.

http://myonlyphoto.blogspot.com/2007/08/how-to-take-photo-of-moon.html

However, you need good zoom for this too work, but you can always have landscape photos with the moon, they are always so nice.

Thanks again, Anna :)

Hi Bob and thanks. I wrote detail instructions for you to follow, and fired up to you via email. If you need further help let me know. Will wait for your 37% full moon with special effects. BTW lucky you I wouldn't be able to get 0.1% of 37% if I wanted to - we got winter storm warning here. Thanks, Anna :)

Thanks Kathy for your comment, and glad you like it. As I was telling Peter, I tend to go back to my post and keep looking at it, lol, kind of wierd, but then if you get overcast skies now what else can you do. Thanks again, Anna :)

This is a very beautiful shot.
Almost zen i might say.
There is a saying in zen called the moon reflecting in the water.

Hello Anna,

What a gorgeous animated moon: congratulations *clap clap clap*!!

About the meteor shower: I didn't even tried to look for it (the last time I did, I wasted my time)! My dad told me "how about if we go to the terrace and wait for the shower?" I just looked at him and said "no, thank you!" lol *nodding*.

Cheers

Anna,

You are most welcome :)!
I am a sky watcher, however I don't like to be fooled (not even by nature) LOL! I used to go to my terrace and watch the showers, but then they never occurred...so I quit! lol

That is so cute of you, may I gather that you are a romantic? :).

Cheers
myonlyphoto said…
Max when you look closely you never know what you may find in the sky, that is why I sometimes hang around, shower no shower. Don't want to miss any opportunities, lol. Romantic, I don't know about that, lol, it is more peaceful for me, but then your peace get interrupted by the wandering skunk, lol. Did you know that if you catch the skunk and lift it up, it will not spray you. It needs legs to charge. However, no planning to catch one, lol. Thanks for your comments, it is always nice to see you back here. Anna :)

LOL

I love it Anna!

I can see a Romulan bird of prey passing by at warp 9.1 in the lower right corner! Very clever….since you even got them with their cloaking device turned on!

Who knows you may even be able to get a photo of Santa and his sleigh!
Livingsword said…
Hi Max…..

Was your dad trying to tell you that you needed a shower? LOL
myonlyphoto said…
Thanks Livingsword. Wow you see a lot on this moon photo, thanks for the direction, I better look at it again, lol, and check on the Romulan bird of prey, not sure if I ever seen or heard of one, sounds like a dinosaur to me, lol. And for the Santa, look on my blog top left corner, he is there, almost lost your gift when flying over Max's blog, lol. Anna :) BTW thanks for the good laugh lol, lol ...

I’ve been nice not naughty! Of course that may depend on how a person views my last comment on your Niagara Falls photo! LOL

So he better deliver my gift! LOL But then again I would be happy to give it to Max :)

Anna,

That is a nice reason "don't want to miss any opportunities" :D!
LOL you have skunks around you? Where near your place? No, I didn't know that...how interesting :)! Oooohhh, so the secret is the legs...I am always learning new things: thanks, Anna :).
LOL LOL I hope not, imagine that you cannot lift it and it sprays on you? Can you imagine the stench :0?

You are welcome, and it is my pleasure to keep coming back :)

Cheers
