Suspended, A Leaf

It is not just the dancing, colourful leaves that make autumn so interesting. It is a season full of spiders, mushrooms, butterflies, and fungi. There are thousands of subjects to photograph.

I am so pleased that many of you still visit me despite my lack of posting. Every day I tell myself I will go for a posting marathon, but then when the night comes, all I can think of is sleep. I did not give up on photography. I carry my camera with me most of the time, sometimes two and sometimes all three of them (one is just a point-and-shoot).

For a low price of just under 200 dollars Canadian, I was able to fix my Canon 20D. They never claimed that it was the number of shutters; all it was was that it needed a major overhaul and probably was shorting somewhere. I am missing probably one more important lens, the macro lens, and I will be set for many years. Suggestions are welcome.

No, I wasn't that lucky to photograph the falling leaf. It is very easy to spot hanging leaves on the spider webs during the fall season. Since the web is nearly invisible, one can be fooled, and I am not suspending my blog. I may take a break, but I will always be back.

My Matthew continues to grow. We wander around the town streets and parks, and we are regular visitors to our local library. My parents borrowed my small point-and-shoot camera for their trip to Poland, which was also used at home by Matthew. So now he is getting his hands on my DSLR. He likes the zooming effect when looking through the viewfinder. He is almost 3 1/2 years old.
The photo was taken at Thronton Bales Conservation Area in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.

Extremely elegant - You shouldn't have told us how you did it. We might copy the method :-)

Although your 'suspended' leaf is stunning, I'm glad you are not suspending your blog. I'm also glad that all your cameras are now in good working order and that you have a young assistant to help you get photos.

Hello Anna! I'm glad to read you are taking photos with pleasure, and Matthew is growing well.
The picture is very nice indeed.
About my post, those blue shapes are the Alps. There isn't any photo effect, in the evening often there is a sort of blue atmosphere in Turin, especially in autumn.
Have a pleasat Friday!

This is a special time of year. It has been cold and the leaves are falling. We are supposed to have to frost for sure, tonight.

This is quite attractive - suspended in space.

About the lens. If you can afford it, you should read about the lens I got. It does most everything I need done 18-270mm Tamron. You can get very close without using the zoom. I like that.

Wonderful to see you on my blog and to visit yours again Anna! And so nice to hear that all is well with you and yours and with Matthew. I loved your capture, so clean and full with mistery - you go girl, and lets keep these blogs going ;)

Congrats on getting the camera sorted, they can be expensive to fix but we have so much fun with them. Nice capture of the leaf suspended. Life does have its seasons when it feels we are overly busy wouldn't it be nice to hit the pause button and just float for a minute.

Hi Anna, I always like to visit your blog.
You took a really nice shot from this leaf.

I really love what you did to the background, Anna. It is a beautiful shot. These new digital cameras are problematic sometimes. I still have two 35 year old Nikon SLRs that work perfectly. Just can't get the Kodachrome film for them anymore.

Oh, to be a young again and as free as a bird or spider. Far too short lived for me but I like the idea of hanging around without a care in the world. Any chance of that happening? No, comes to mind. Great pic and great to see that Mr and Mrs MacArenas are going to be grandparents for the second time.

Take Care,
Peter

Lovely photo Anna, like the effect with this shot! Glad to hear you got your 20D fixed. Good to see you posting again. Look forward to viewing your images and reading your narratives. Don't worry about how not posting frequently. All that matters is that you do post the quality images that you do. Matthew is getting so big, you will soon be posting his photos. Everything is fine with me. My granddaughter is 6 years old now and still the joy of my life. Take care.
Oooo lovely! I can see the web. Such a good shot!

I'm glad you got your camera fixed! Maybe you can buy a broken one for Matthew to play with. ;-)

That’s amazing and hard to believe that leaf hangs from spider web, and if not u reveal I wouldn’t stopped wondering how u captured it without blur or motion in picture. But still I admire it a lot! Your photographs never fail to wonder me dear… they are quite adorable. Glad u get mood to blog now and sure it must so nice going out with Matthew esp. visiting library is going to teach him a lot. Keep it up Anna :)

That leaf is the lucky one to be caught in its final act on this earth.

Hey Anna :D!

What a spectacular photo! Your craft is getting better and better - do you know what this leaf reminded me of? Milan Kundera's "The Unsustainable Levity of Being"...when for some reason life, as we know it, gets suspended so that other aspects of life can occur.

My dear friend (and you are an amazing friend), to me you are always present :).

Big hug to Matthew and to you!

Cheers

Dear Anna,
I am glad you didn’t give up on photography, and that Mathew is growing well.
This photo with hanging leaf on the spider web is stunning.
I too am not as regular blogger as I used to be. I am fine, thanks for asking, it’s just the time; it flies by and I simply cannot catch up with it. I became a mother in law. My older son was married in June this year. I already posted some photos about it.

Thanks for stopping by the other week, Anna. I had taken a break for awhile, and your comment was a needed reminder that I should start posting somewhat regularly again. It's good to hear that all is well in your neck of the woods. Cheers!
