Winter Happy Mourning Dove

I thought I would play a small memory game with you. I looked back into some archives, and I thought I would re-post this image of the Mourning dove sitting on my BBQ. This is actually a variation of the one I posted back on December 17, 2007. I checked who commented back, and it is kind of hard to believe that a lot of you are still around and visiting my blog, never mind that it's been more than three years. My blogging isn't as active as before, but I am not planning to stop. There is always something unexpected, and hopefully there will be none.
Everything is fine here; the winter is coming; flu, colds, Christmas shopping—everything is piling up. But overall, life is good, and if you want to hear the latest and greatest about Matthew, have fun reading Kids Say the Darndest Things - No Bath Time Please [Story Blob].

Hi! Did it cook up OK? Looks like it needs defrosting though. LOL As for me I have a habit of hanging around like an old smell. More LOLs!

Take Care,
Peter

I think the dove is wishing that there was a little heat coming off that grill -- it looks cold. But it is a great picture.

I see it's getting to be that time of year for you all as well. More and more often down here the air has a brisk winter bite to it. I'm looking forward to the stillness of the first snowfall of the season. Cheers!

I remember that photo. One of my favorites. I am still amazed at how the snow just sits on the head. Those feathers really do keep the body heat in.

Anna:

Years ago there was a program on television titled "Kids say the darndest things." It was hosted by a dear old fellow named Art Linkletter. You probably heard of him, you may have even watched his show. I don't know, you are so young. But those kids he had on his show really did say some really funny things. You've got to love little kids, they are so much fun.

Glad to hear all is well.

Happy trails.
Beautiful photo! Love the blue eyeliner.
We are having a hard time keeping up with blogging too. It is fun, but work always seems to get in the way for mom.
We are glad we have kept up with each others blogs for so long! :^)

I don't remember that post but my memory isn't what it used to be.

Yes, a lot of people have dropped off in the time I've been blogging, but a lot of us are still here. I'm always a little sad when people disappear along with their blogs.

I wish you good times for the holidays, Anna, and to dodge the colds and flu if possible!

Oh that's truly a surprising and very funny picture, but it is also, and not least, a splendid nature shot! Well done Anna!
Anna,

Your photo is still stunning.
My blog is not active as before but I still love blogging. I will continue adding my shots : )

I wish your son, Matthew, would be happy this Christmas.

Hello Anna,

Your post says you are not as active a blogger as you used to be. Having just discovered your blog, I hope you intend to change your plans and post more often. I love the look of it and all that it promises, just a few clicks away. And I intend to click away!

For me the dove looks like a doll made in furry woods. It’s so nice and I think how well the dove bears the cold. Good to hear that everything is fine at your end. Let me check what Matthew done to wonder there :)

Hi Anna,
3 years? I think I wasn't here back then, but in any case, online acquaintances develop very fast and it is great to have you as a blog friend. As for the picture, the expressions on the bird's face are very vivid, don't you agree? Seems to enjoy the snow. :-)
