There are Always Bugs, Sunsets, and Flowers to Photograph

...and Moon, lol. My baby Matthew is now over 2 months old, and he will be getting his first immunization needles tomorrow. He is so adorable and growing too fast. I will miss those first days when he was born. I can trace every step from the time Matthew was born, but some of the stuff is slowly fading as there are always new things happening every day. We have been taking short walks around our subdivision for now, and believe me, I am finding a lot of interesting things about our neighbourhood. I guess I have a limit on how far we can walk from home, as Matthew still feeds every two hours during the day—yes, he is one hungry baby. We have also gone to our local boardwalk, which is minutes away.

My camera continues to travel with me; however, I cannot wait for the birds as I used to. Oh well, there are always bugs to photograph, and that is what I did the other day. I went to the backyard and started to chase bees, bumble bees, ants, spiders, wasps, hornets, and flies. I was actually practising with manual zoom and trying to freeze the wings of the flying bee—no shortage this time after 100 shots. On the other hand, I wasn't impressed with the selection of bugs in my backyard; I think I used to have dragon flies and praying mantises too, and where are they when you need them? However, something interesting has been discovered.

At night—yes, nights are now busy as well—I went to the window in the kitchen and discovered many different green bugs on the window. I guess next time I will get myself a bug collection kit and collect them for the photo shoot. So tonight, as I will be going through hundreds of bumble bee photos, I leave you with this set of sunset photos I took when we went for the walk today.

Anna, aren't babies a wonderful gift?
Our first was crabby baby, colic, we took lots of car rides at night to say the least, lol.

Treasure every moment, they grow up way too fast and before you know it, they know everything and you know nothing, lol.

Glad you still have your camera picture taking thing going on, just beautiful Sunset images.

Beautiful sunsets, Anna! Sounds like you are enjoying every minute with Matthew. I agree - it does go way too fast!
HI Anna,
Gorgeous photos! It is hard to keep up after birds, isn't it? I am sure any bug pictures you will be taking will be awesome too. Hope you are enjoying spending time with Matthew.
Thanks for visiting again, and I will see you again soon!

Fantastic Sunset, great picture.

Congratulations
Anna, I was chasing bumble bees around a couple of days ago and have some shots. LOL It figures we'd be doing the same thing.

Are you keeping a journal for baby Matthew? I wish I would have done that with my kids. How precious to read it later on.

I'm so happy for you!!!

Big Hugs, JJ
And what beautiful photos!!! I love the mood you captured. WOOT you have time for photos again. I sure missed you.

Nice post. It reminded me of when my own children were born. Mostly I remember the total lack of sleep, as I sat in the rocking chair for endless hours. But now they are all grown and the past seems so long ago - like a different century.

My favorite time was when the kids reached about four or five years old. They are so much fun at that age, and they need your help so much to guide them and teach them. Every new day is a new adventure.

Happy trails.

Hi! It won’t be long before you will be chasing Matthew through the subdivision. With his little legs going a million miles a hour and mum's curses not far behind.

As for those bugs, I can see him pulling the wings off, one by one.
Should make a great shot and something to show him on his 21st birthday.

Take Care,
Peter

Hey Anna,

Oh, yes...now Matthew will start growing non-stop! Soon, he'll be eating real soups, his teeth will grow, then he'll start eating bread...so sweet! :)

Wow...these pictures are amazing, darling! I love sunsets, and these are just lovely (with the trees and all)!

Give a big hug to Matthew for me, and have a great week, dear :D!

Cheers

Hi Anna! Cherish these days as they do go by so fast. My youngest is now 14 and has two siblings in college.

I can't say that there was any time when the oldest were growing up that was better or worse than another time. But it is really sad when they go off to college or on with their adult lives. Leaves a big empty space to try and fill.
How did the immunization shots go, Anna?

Wild wave!!!

Hugs, JJ

Hi,
You are a wonderful photographer and a equally good mom who loves nature so much. Mathew is very lucky to have you as his mom, he'll definitely make you run after him. Let him grow a bit. :)

Your photos are excellent. If you have a photo of sunrise (which I am sure you would have because of Mathew ;) ), you can participate here. The last date is 20th July.

Hi Susanne, thanks for all and especially for the wonderful award, very much appreciated. Anna :) btw I am kind of late with these replys, lol.

Hi Bob, yes babies are wonderful gifts. I am not sure if Matthew is colic, he likes to cry sometimes and has hard time following sleep in the evening. We have not tried the car, as we know when he is tired, he will not enjoy the ride. We give him water bath every night, and that seems to work wonders. Oh he is just one adorable baby, and yes growing fast, and I think he starting to know things, lol....Thanks for your comments as always, Anna :)

Hi Kathy, thanks. Yes, moments with Matthew are precious. Anna :)

Thanks JB. I am lucky that my husband goes with me for walks, he pushes the stroller, while I have some time to shoot photos. I was lucky to get some bird shots, and as well bug shots. Good luck in August with the move. Not going anywhere, and sure you will have some moving stories, lol, to share. Anna :)

Thanks Medam. Yes I was lucky to get some nice bug shots, but with the bugs no body wants to hang around. You asked about Matthew's photo shots, oh I take photos of him every day. He is just growing so fast, and even if photos are not perfect, they show what we did on that day, good for archives, lol. Thanks for your kind words again, Anna :)

Hi Troy and Martha, thanks for your comment and visit. More bug photos and probably of Matthew will be coming soon, glad that digital technology exists, lol, because I take so many photos - it is not that easy to follow bugs, lol. Anna :)

Cindy thanks. Yes you are right, time flies, especially days. By the time I feed Matthew at 5-6 am, and change him, and rest on the side, whole morning feels like happened in minutes. Cindy thanks again, Anna :)

Hi Jose Neves, thanks for your kind comment. Anna :)

JJ, you too with bumble bees, they are cool creatures, but you know now that I have been photo them it seems that there are different kinds. Not really keeping journal, but we have feeding chart we made in excel, so we put little notes in it, however, I have photo notes, lol, taking pictures everyday. However, I am planning to blog about it soon on the story blob blog...Thanks again JJ for all. Anna :)

Hi Priyank, yes 100 or more times, just so hard to keep up with those bugs. Yes I can still do some things, but thank God for my husband who is around to feed me and help me around. Thanks again, and happy travelling. Anna :)

Hi swubird, now 2 months feels like long time ago too. I wish I could replay those days, they were hard times sometimes but enjoyable. Matthew is growing fast, and before I know it, he probably will be 5 years old. He is such a adorable baby, that sometimes it is so hard to let go of him. Thanks for sharing your story, appreciated. Anna :0

Peter, lol, yes it is not too far, if time continues to fly so fast. Trying to stay in shape so I can chase him around the subdivision, lol, but I will have to teach him not to torture bugs, lol, I had enough watching my sister doing it all the time - those crazy experiments, lol. Thanks again for your comment Peter, nice job with CSS, still impressed. Anna :)

Hi Will, taking your advice very seriously. I am enjoying every second, even now when I am writing, I can hear him breathing. I know what you mean with empty spaces, as I look back when I used to live with my parents, we had such a blast, all 6 of us, parents and 4 of us (I have 2 sisters and youngest brother). But hey you have to give your self tap on the shoulder for doing great job rasing them. Thanks again for your insights, Anna :)

Cuckoo thank you so much for your kind, very kind words, they are appreciated. As much Matthew is lucky, I think I am lucky too to have Matthew around all the time. Thanks for the invitation, I will visit you shortly. Anna :)

I love sunsets and sunrises and these are nice shots. My efforts at photographing bugs has been very unsucccesful so I eagerly await your photos :)
It seems like just the other day that our first child arrived and now I am a grandfather - time seems to go so fast and they change so quickly - so treasure each moment.
