It's all about time now for me; therefore, I started to photo shoot insects—yes, small creatures that are everywhere, probably one sitting on your shoulder somewhere or hiding in the folds of your dark shirt.
Kidding aside, I am telling you that my backyard is abundant with insects; you just have to look carefully. Especially in the evening, all the creatures wonder towards the kitchen light but only make it to the sliding glass door. So a few days ago, I decided to leave Matthew sleeping in his bed and have his dad watch over him. I took my camera and went to the backyard. First, the scent was unbelievable, and it all came from white clover flowers. Yes, our grass got invaded by clover, but guess what? It is more durable, does not grow tall, and does not need to be watered because roots are deep and leaves cover the ground, keeping the soil moist. Clover is almost like a weed, but now it is a weed we appreciate. I have decided to chase this one bumblebee and try to photograph it. I wanted to get some photos of a bumblebee in motion. No success this time. I was playing with Time Value Tv mode to get the bee in motion; it would work if only the bee was on the sun all the time. However, success or no success, I still have some decent photos that I am showcasing here. Aside from that, Matthew is growing fast. He is over 2 months old, weighs over 15 lbs, and is 61 cm tall. He grew 10 cm. Wow. He still wants to be carried around during the day; however, the little guy likes to sleep like mommy and daddy. He is in bed by 11 p.m. and sleeps for about 4-5 hours. I think some indicators are telling us that he is starting to teethe. I'm not sure; it may be too early, but our little boy does not look like an infant anymore. Oh yeah, and he has started to hold his head up since last Wednesday. He is really growing, and someone must slow the time down for me because it is flying too fast for me.

Fantastic photos, darling! The clover flowers look so cute...this may not sound logical, but they reminded me of love! Thus I could say that your backyard is full of love :D!
Matthew is getting bigger and bigger! He is already lifting his head? Wow...
No, I don't think it is too early for teething; but I will have to confirm it with my mom....next month he will be able to drink juice and eat soup-creams already :D!
He is cuter and cuter too :D!
God bless!
And such awesome bumblebee photos!

Thank you, darling *bowing*!
"You know when I was photographing the bumble bee in the clover field, for some reason it kept reminding me myself sitting in the chair and feeding Matthew, strange, lol." - you see, that is what I was talking about: love :D!
"Yes he is getting bigger, and so observant. Wants to sit up all the time and just look at things. I started to read a book for him, and he actually pays attention." - Ooooh, how cute! He is one smart baby :)! By the way, I checked and teething in his age is normal...his body is getting ready for food :D!
"Thanks Max for your lovely comment, as always appreciated. Matthew sends love your way." - You are welcome, darling! You know I love conversing with you! Ohh, auntie Max sends love his way too :)!

I love the shots of the clover. I've had a friend or two decide to switch over from a lawn to clover and been very happy. Looks like you did it without even knowing you were doing it.

Your photos of the birds and the bees are great.
As regards your query about water melon skins let ne enlighten you :)
In South Africa we make a jam or a preserve, from water melon skins - sometimes plain other times mixed with ginger. It is delicious. I do not know if you are into jam making, but if you are interested, I think I still have the recipe somewhere. I have made tons of the stuff over the years.
And one other use - cut the water melon in half, remove the pulp and voila you have a ready made hat. Many of our local exhibitionist supporters can be seen wearing these at cricket matches
