Winter ends, spring ends, summer ends, fall ends, snow melts, and rain evaporates. I can go on and on. They do end, yet they come back. Cycle of Life, we call it.
Now, my Canon 20D finally took its last breath on February 21st after probably just over 100 thousand shots. It happened to get the continuous shutter clicking syndrome, which happened when I took it outside for photographing (-15 C at least). Reading about it, I found that my shutter is definitely gone. Should I replace the shutter on the 20D, or is this a coincidence because I've been having a big temptation to get the 7D? Maybe it's time for an upgrade. However, I had a plan for two cameras because I just hate changing lenses (and getting dust on my sensor), and I wouldn't mind having at least two lenses always ready to shoot. I might see; maybe if I get a good price on the 7D, I will repair the 20D also.
Here I am leaving you with one of the last photographs I took with my original 20D. We still have winter in effect, but it hasn't been that cold, and as I will be missing out on the photo shoot for a few weeks, I know that winter will be back next year.

I admire you and your cameras and lenses. I didn't know it until recently but Canon has a life expectancy of 100,000 clicks and then things start going hay wire. Maybe that's what happened to your 20D. Each Canon and each year has a different number of clicks related to them and the year and the model. I didn't bother to read the fine print.
I wouldn't want to spend a couple of grand on any camera only to have it fail on 100,000 clicks.
I know the feeling of having two cameras to avoid dust. My digital camera has dust on the sensor even though I was as careful as could be when changing lenses. Why can't they fix this issue and save us PhotoShop time?

Yes, finally winter is coming to an end: thank God.
Well, I am not being totally fair here because Portugal kicked winter a month ago now...but still...the bloke (winter) is officially around until the 21st of March.

Hope you got the deal you wanted on the 7D. I love the newer and lighter cameras. That's one of the bonuses of having a newer one.
When I read your post title I gasped! Now I'm relieved to read that the post is about your camera. I was afraid you were going to tell us you're so busy with Matthew that you are leaving your blog for awhile. I'm glad that's not the case.
In case you are interested, I recently bought a Nikon point and shoot, which I find very handy for longer walks and hikes. I could not handle the weight of my D-SLR any longer, if I'm going to be carrying it for any length of time.

Currently, price of 7D is not expensive in my opinion. I think this will be good opportunity to upgrade your photography gear. You will love 7D trust me.
