Eastern Kingbird Finally Arrived

I couldn't remember when the Easter Kingbird [Tyrannus tyrannus] would be showing his face in our area. Last week I was passing by the area where they are usually found, and I was surprised at how many I saw. Usually I see one, and this time it was between 6 and 7 of them in different locations. I don't know what is happening, but I have noticed that there seem to be more birds lately. Maybe I notice them more too. Well, this time I will be short and sweet in this blog post. I am hoping to go back and take more photos of the kingbirds before they migrate again. They do remind me of hummingbirds, as they like to hover above the grass a lot.
Fiscal year end for my business is approaching, so I will probably be buried in the paperwork for a couple of weeks. No, it isn't that much work, but I only have 1-2 hours or less a day for computer work. Enjoy your summer!

Nice shot Anna! It appears to be watching you. SO much green in the photo too that it looks like summer has really arrived even in the far north. Do you have your own business, Anna? Or just referring to your workplace as "my business"? Summer is busy here too. Of course work is busy as always, but also all the gardening and other outdoor projects.

Anna: Beautiful capture in the wild, I love the coloring on that bird.

The way you portrayed this little bird in front of the background does justice to, not only mother nature, but your talent as a photographer. Well Done!

I wish I would see my bluebirds again.

I am sad, but 8 comments at sync, including yours, did not appear. I received email verification, but they aren't at the post. It makes me sad. Some time ago I had also discovered that all the comments from my first year at least, many exchanges with dear friends, have disappeared. I imagine there is nothing I can do about that. But I do hope this will be rectified soon for the current post. I would so appreciate it if you would re-post your comment, you could just copy and paste, you said:

Ruth dear another great post, and what a nice time that is. It is so nice that you follow such a tradition. BTW is that on owl sitting behind your fishing nephew, lol. Anna :)

The more birds that sing around us the better. When there is no birds around we have a problem.

Lovely! I saw a pileated woodpecker and his mate the other day. Every time I see an unusual bird, I think, "How would Anna photograph it?"

I don't know if there are more birds in our area, but I know I am more aware of the birds we see. Betsy is very interested in photographing 'her' birds, so we both pay more attention.
I really like your photograph.

Can see where they got the name for this bird, very majestic looking. Your bird shots are amazing Anna so beautifully composed and with great clarity.
GORGEOUS CAPTURE, ANNA!!! I noticed a lot of robins in my yard this morn. More than I can ever remember seeing at one time.

Very nice capture anna! Hope the birds stay long for your great photography. For the last two days there was a bird chipping around my house, and its tone was very strange.
have a great time dear, and don’t bury yourself much into the work and do take time to observe.

Only in the past two years have I started noticing the birds. I have hummingbird feeders in my yard and can sit and watch the birds gather all day! Right now there is a Robin pulling a worm from our back lawn and several Yellow Finch in the tree at the edge of the yard. The other day I was visited by a House Sparrow and his mate. We also have Bald Eagles, Osprey, Red Tailed Hawks and huge Ravens. And to think, for years I paid the birds no mind. They are amazing creatures.
Beautiful shot Anna! What was the focal length you used?
Anyways, I'm back! My photo site is tentatively up at http://jdrbeaudoin.zenfolio.com with a link to my blog. I've only just started it so it's sparse in content but I will be adding more over the next few months. I will have some exciting photographic ventures to add to it. Anyways, just letting you know I'm back :-) Take care.

Hi Anna, nice photo. I also enjoy having birds around. Thanks for stopping by and for the comments. In answer to your question the Siamese kittens eyes are as blue in real life as they are in the photo.
