3S Spring Sunlight Seeds - Areca Palm Seeds or Fruit

Here I am again, trying to be creative. I got on my knees and collected all fallen seeds [2–3 mm in diameter] or fruit from the Areca Palm [Chrysalidocarpus lutescens], a house plant we have in our house. The sunlight was shining beautifully on the seeds I collected and put back into the pot. And yes, I forgot to mention that I am dreaming of spring. However, the moment was right, the timing was right—snap, snap, and snap—and here is my second texture photo on this blog. Should you be interested in seeing my first, here it is.

I actually gave a digital print to my blogger friend Will Taft from Healthy Living For People and Planet Earth. It was nice of him to ask for a copy so he could frame it and hang it on his wall. Even if it didn't make his wall, I am very pleased that someone was actually interested in my photo.

As you can see in the title, I invented my own acronym, 3S [Spring, Sunlight, Seeds], and I am tempted to submit it to the All Acronyms web site I ran into by accident; they probably would laugh at me, as I am laughing at myself right now, but you never know. I hope you enjoyed my short and sweet post this week. My son Matthew got his first fever a few days ago, so three of us are slowly recovering—recovering faster than I thought. My little trooper is giving out smiles again, soon with more teeth.

Oohhh it's so simple and beautiful. I really like that kind of pictures. Maybe I'm the first one to comment this time, who knows, hahaha.
Enjoy the days.

Dreaming of spring too :) Loved the textured picture and 3S, lol not bad!

Dick yes you are lol - thanks. I do to like those kind of pictures too, especially now when I am at home all the time. Hopefully spring will come soon, so I can stick my nose from the house...Thanks for visiting. Anna :)

Priyank I guess that makes us both dreamers, lol. So you like my 3S thin, cool may be it can be applied in school, lol. Thanks for double visit. Anna :)

I just love the word "seed" -- so many metaphorical meanings, and the actual reality of a seed kind of blows my mind. Happy, happy yellow for end-of-winter blues (grays).

I like the softness of the pic, looks more like summer than spring, and perhaps looks like tiny pumpkins
myonlyphoto said…
Thanks Bee, this is interesting about the seed, lol. To me seed means beginnings....Thans for dropping by. Anna :)
myonlyphoto said…
Lissa you are right, it looks more like summer, or even fall, lol. May be it is for the palm plant since they all fell of it. Thanks for your comment again. Anna :)

I am dreaming of spring too! It was 33F here today and raining or hailing, or snowing all day long. But the daffodils are starting to bloom. I hoped enough snow would stick to get a photo of them in the snow, but it melted as soon as it touched the ground.

I finally have a frame for your photo, Anna. Just need to put it in and hang it up. Thanks again!

What a great photo. Another fine example of your sharp eye and photographic skill. It would look great on any body's wall.

Get well soon.

Happy trails.

Anna, I'm sorry to hear you have all gotten sick! But I'm glad you're on the mend.

I'm looking forward to spring, too, having been captive in the house for way too many days this winter.

Yes, Matthew will have more teeth! Isn't it a joy to watch them develop and grow! (the boy, not the teeth, lol...)

You are very creative, Anna, and your photo is beautifully lit. Those berries are small, indeed! At 2-3 mm, I don't know how you even picked them up!

Buena iluminacion y muy buenas texturas.

You are so very creative Anna. Lovely colors and the lighting is perfect. A beautiful composition. Like your acronym and thanks for the info on that web site, I'll have to check it out. Take care Anna and have a great day.

I was guessing your 3s to be simply, superb, and surely great. :)
The yellow IS very sunny and wonderful! They are like little orbs of sunlight, aren't they?

I hope your little one gets healthy, like these pretty fruits/seeds.

Hi Anna - When I first saw those I knew instantly what they were. I had a palm that used to go into overtime making those seeds - they were everywhere if I didn't remove them before they fell off. I haven't thought about them in years.

Glad you all are feeling better - flus are no fun - especially for the little ones.

Take care and have a good weekend!

Very cool shot Anna, I was thinking it look like an alien planet landscape, and those are pods, soon to be aliens, hey but that's just me,lol.

That's a beautiful macro shot, the lighting is amazing.

I was wondering how this composition will look at a -1.0EV. The shadows would have become darker for sure enhancing the focus on those yellow fruits.

Splendid image! Very nicely captured, I love the colors and the masterful use of light here.

Hey Will I hope your dream come true, because mine isn't. We got snow yesterday, and all was looking so good.

Will you said: 'I finally have a frame for your photo, Anna. Just need to put it in and hang it up.' - thanks, no need to rush you, just wanted to mention you, I was very surprised that someone actually wanted my photo :).

Thanks again Will, appreciated.

Anna :)

Thanks Swubird for always kind words. This digital technology is making me such amazing photographer, I just cannot take all the credit yet, lol. However, all is always appreciated. Anna :)

Thanks Lynda, you know how it is when one person get sick. I think Matthew took the worst beating.

Yes that captivity is not good for both us Lynda, especially when we love to be outside and enjoy the beautiful nature.

Lynda you said: 'Yes, Matthew will have more teeth! Isn't it a joy to watch them develop and grow! (the boy, not the teeth, lol...)' - yes the boy of course, lol, you are funny.

You said: 'At 2-3 mm, I don't know how you even picked them up!' - scooping technique, lol, yes at times one by one. I have to tell you I have the biggest patience for small things lol.

Thanks Lynda again, Anna :)

Thanks John, you are right the lighting was just perfect, I couldn't let it go, lol.

You take care of yourself too. Wish you all the best.

Cindy excellent interpretation, thanks, and yes they are. Anna :)

Thanks Andrea. Aha, calling this an experiment, I like it, it is like science, lol. So you have another blog, I will check it out later. Hopefully I can find it. Textures are fun, Anna :)

Thanks Ruth, we are all well and recovered :). Anna :)

Funny you said this Kathy, when I was posting this post, I thought of you, knowing you photographed many different plants and you are usually very knowledgeable in that area. Yes you are right they are working overtime, I wasn't too happy doing it, but I had to cut other branches with still green ones on. Oh, well, they will come out again, lol.

You said: 'flus are no fun - especially for the little ones.' - you are right, and especially for first time parents, becasue we are trying to do everything right, not trying to miss anything, scared a bit, and on and on.

Thanks Kathy again, we are all well now.

PS Everytime Matthew goes through some trauma in his life, lol, like being sick or needles, he changes. He doubled his food intake [solids] soon as he got well...seems like a pattern, it happens every time.

Anna :)

Hey Bob its not just you, it is you, lol. You know beside thinking about Kathy, when I was down on my knees I though this is how Bob feels when he collects his micro-meteorites with the spoon, lol. Thanks for sharing your 'funny' thoughts. Anna :)

Thanks Thomas for your kind comment and the tip, I will definitely try it if I get the same scenario. Probably would look even better... Anna :)

Anna, you have effectively experimented with a technique of spot lighting here. I feel that the mood of stardom is created using this style of lighting.

Hi! You probably already know this but I'll mention it anyway: Watch out for the nuts as in some countries where people chew on them for their addictive and intoxicating qualities, they are known to cause mouth cancers.

Take Care,
Peter

Hey Lynda, thanks for asking, yes I am okay. Matthew was the worst one, us we suppressed a lot as we worried about Matthew. But now we are all okay, and Matthew is smiling again, however, his teething seems to be bad at times, so needs lot of attention day and night. I still nurse him 3-4 times since 9pm to 8am in the morning. But I think some of it has to do with teething, or he is just hungry, lol. Lynda again thanks for asking, and thank you for dropping by again, Anna :)
myonlyphoto said…
Thanks Lena, long time no see. Yes we are all fine now, and the little Matthew is back to himself again. Thanks for asking, appreciate. Anna :)

Hey Peter, thanks, and what are the nuts? I eat lot of almonds, are they bad for me too. We do not have any other ones, except once in the while I buy hazel nuts. Wow, they can actually cause cancer in the mouth, that is bad. Thanks for the info, hearing it first time. Anna :)

You really are very creative and a photographer with sharp eye. I think it wasn’t easy to take a photo of those small barriers. The photo is great, full of light and life.
I am sorry that I didn’t know that you all were sick. I do hope that you and your family are now feeling fine. I too have caught a cold and I am still recovering from it. I simply cannot get rid of it completely.
You again found the time to give your comment to every of my posts that you had missed. Thank you very much for that. By the way, I am taking this opportunity to answer you question about the birds that you saw in one of my posts. It is about European Magpies, very common birds in this area. They are recognizable by their long tail and black and white plumage and also by their chattering call.

Hi! The areca nuts are the ones I was talking about that cause the trouble. Another piece of trivia on my part but something to watch out for. I'm just full of it, aren't I! Take Care - Peter
myonlyphoto said…
Oh I didn't know Peter that my plant had edible nuts, but I don't eat them. I guess I am safe with almonds and walnuts, lol. And no you are not full of it, its your profession, and you are doing preventative measures, Anna :)

Hey Leo we share the moon. I use my lens to look at the moon too, so it is like telescope too. Taking photos of the moon is fun, and I hope you get yourself nice gear one day too. Anna :)

Thanks Medam, we are all nice and sound now. To take photos of these seeds was actually not that bad, the light helped a lot. Light is good!
Hope you are better too, and if not that old chicken soup can give you a bit of relief.
