Yes, what a crazy title for my post today, but hey, I hope you can see what I am seeing in this photo—the 'chilling' gorilla.
When I was little, I used to stare at the sky a lot and, at times, dream how much I wanted to be out there in the clouds, or more specifically, 'chilling' in the clouds. Yes, I was a vivid or crazy dreamer, and my dreams often seemed impossible. However, one day I came across a little boy on the plane when I was flying to Europe, and believe it or not, he had the same dream. I wrote about him once on my story blob, so if you are interested in reading it, here it is: "The Honest Hand Shake."
On the other hand, since I am spending so much time with my son Matthew, my photography trips are limited, but I still cannot believe that limits actually make me more creative, and I find that even when I am confined to small spaces, I will find a subject to photograph no matter what. I remember when I was in my last year of university and trying to come up with a topic for my thesis, all we (the team) could think of was building some kind of machine. For some reason, we always came up with a very complicated project. So one day when we went for the approval of our project, our supervising professor said, "This project could take years", but then he also said something very interesting that stayed with me for years: "You know I could write a hundred-page thesis on this little crack on the table." Over 10 years later, I could do the same, and I could do the same with my photography projects too. And now my favourite subject to talk about is my baby Matthew. Yes, I could write and write about him so much, not including how many photos of him I already have. Many of them are not the greatest ones, but they are my memory snippets of the new things Matthew did. Lately, he has started to be more comfortable on his belly and lifting his buttocks, probably almost ready to crawl. Oh, it is so much fun to watch him, especially when he gets so excited, as you can see on his face in this photo. However, it has been hard to get him to smile at the camera lately. As soon as I take my camera out, he puts on his serious face. Matthew also started to talk more, obviously in his own language, and he started to do that around my husband's birthday, September 11th. What a nice birthday gift! Matthew had his baptism last Sunday, September 14th, and he did so well. He was baptized in the Ukrainian Catholic Church; the ceremony was beautiful and very personal. The priest liked Matthew very much; it was so cute to see a priest kissing and snuggling him at some point between each session of the ceremony. I was worried the whole week that he might cry because we know he can.
By the end of the day, we were very proud parents, and it is hard to believe that my baby is growing and maturing every day.
All I can say is, God Bless Him for being so good.

And gosh, the boy is soooooooooooo cute!! I think i love him ;)
Have a great day Anna!
Thanks for all your comments also on my blog, very much appreciated!
Happy belated Birthday to your husband!
I didn't at first though... :)
Beautiful photos, Anna. :)
To visualize a object differently....
is nice...
Baby Matthew has turned into quite a charmer. :D Super congrats on his baptism.
Love the sunflower's dewy petals. :D Great color too.
Wild wave to my dear friend. I'm halfway through my photography class and am enjoying it immensely. It's interesting what objects in a photo can make for great shots. I'm looking around me too. One shot that was featured on the site was of a half peeled banana.
Hugs, JJ
Matthew is so cute, has those chipmunk type cheeks, my oldest did too, she didn't crawl, she just decided to one day pull herself up and walk, lol.
Great shots, the flower is too cool with the water drops and all, nice.
Take Care,
Peter
Congratulations for your baby's baptism (I remembered, but since I was busy getting married, I didn't have the time to email you)!!
And belated Happy Birthday to your husband :D!
I am so embarrassed to admit that I didn't see anything in the cloud photo :(! I didn't see the gorilla :o
Baby Matthew is sooooo beautiful!!! Look at those cheeks!!! :D
He is talking already? Wow, he is an intelligent boy ;D! Soon, there will be no stopping him in talking away...imagine the great conversations you two will have :D!
I am so happy for you, darling *hug*!
Hug baby Matt for me, will you :D?
Cheers
Yes, I think I see the big ape reclining on top of the cloud. Spooky. I use to take a lot of cloud pictures, and the Queen and I would see all sorts of wispy images half hidden in the puffy white cotton.
Great job.
hapy trails.
Thanks again, Anna :)
Thanks for the nice comments on my photos, and of course Matthew.
Glad that you are enjoying your photography course, it is amazing how much we can capture with this great invention. On my way to see your 'peeled banana'.
Thanks again, Anna :)
Those 'chipmunk type cheeks', lol, are inherited from me, lol. And wow with skipping crawl, it may happen too, Matthew got really strong legs, and can stand with very little support, he just needs to figure out that he needs to grab on to something in order to stand or sit, lol.
Thanks for all your nice comments as always. Anna :)
Oh Max don't be embarrassed, I will see if I can help you see it, just give me some time to sketch it for you, lol, btw I am not very good at it thought, so who knows what you end up seeing, lol.
Wait till you kiss those cheeks, lol.
You said: 'He is talking already? Wow, he is an intelligent boy ;D! Soon, there will be no stopping him in talking away...imagine the great conversations you two will have :D!; - yes in his own language, and he is trying so hard, the funny thing is he also yells at us if he wants something, lol, it looks so cute. I think he did it during baptism at some point - talking back at the priest, lol. Oh he is just so presious.
Thanks Max as always for all your nice comments and wishes, and again congratulations on your marriage, I am so happy for you.
Anna :)
Lol Swubrid, thanks for laughs, as always.
Anna :)
"congratulations on your marriage, wishing you all the best, and make sure that you are always on your honeymoon, lol." - thank you, darling :D! LOL I intend to be in a long honeymoon indeed...since they say that the first marital crisis falls on the 10th year of marriage, I'll be enjoying a honeymoon until then ;D lol.
"Thanks for the wishes, and Matthew sending hugs back. Yes I did hug him from you - he also sends smiles back." - Oooh, Matthew is sooo cute: thanks, Matt!! You are so sweet, Anna...you really are!
"Oh Max don't be embarrassed, I will see if I can help you see it, just give me some time to sketch it for you, lol, btw I am not very good at it thought, so who knows what you end up seeing, lol." - LOL oh my God...I might end up seeing a chimp and not a gorilla LOL....
I just love your baby boy, I am his huge fan: I love a baby with personality! So...he already talks back, eh? Matt! Matt! Matt! lol :D He is precious indeed, Mamma Anna ;D!
You are welcome, darling: I missed you here :D! Thanks, darling...I am extremely happy myself *hug*!
Cheers
And Anna, it is just not possible to comment on a photo of Matthew with out using the word cute. The little girls of the world better get ready, he looks like a future heart throb!
Cindy
Thank you very much for your always very nice and kind comments on every photo that you didn’t see earlier. That really makes me happy and it always brings a big smile of pleasure on to my face. :-))
Your son is a very beautiful boy! I don't know if I ever shared that I have five beautiful grandsons. :-)
I can relate to your cloud fantasy, as I've always wanted to "jump in" to the vast cloud-scapes we see piled high like castles and canyons in the sky.
And of course, you will take thousands of photos of precious Matthew, at every stage of his growth. Amazing to think he is soon to crawl! You must let us know... :) (One day he'll be out taking photos with his Mom.)
Your sunflower photo is gorgeous!
I've got some free time so I decided to come here and relax for a bit. What you haven't changed your blog around! LOL Seems you don't have that same itch that drives me nuts and makes me change mine around all the time.
Your clouds remind me of when I was a little boy. I used to lay down in the grass and imagine myself falling into the clouds and the vast expanse of sky. Invariably I would always scare myself back to reality because I could actually "feel" myself falling LOL.
Your son is quite a handsome little tike. He is certainly growing fast. He's making me feel old LOL
I imagine his baptism was beautiful. My father was a devoted follower of the Ukranian Catholic mass...and I grew up going to the masses often.
And finally, your flower shot...well, what can I say. Very nicely done!
On that note....I've finished my coffee and I'll be heading out of here. Thanks for the wonderful read dear.
Take care.

Beautiful pictures and so nice to read about the updates. He is really so excited, you can see the sparkle in his eyes. I still spend time looking at the clouds and thinking of what shapes they look like, its a nice sport to play with yourself :)
until the next post,
Priyank
And I agree, it is always the little things that are important - doesn't have to be big to make a difference.
Your clouds and flower are beautiful!
Take Care,
Kathy
Yes Matthew is quite a character. We been trying to teach him some words, and I think we are hearing them back, lol. Thanks for coming back as always, and congrats again, hugs, Anna :)
Oh and thanks for nice comments about Matthew, he is our little treasure, we often ask him does he has a license to be so cute, lol - btw he is grown organically, lol. Thanks again, Anna :)
Robyn, 5 grandchildren and not just grandchildren - but grandsons, wow, I got to see them one day.
Thanks again for your comment, appreciated. Anna :)
Lynda thank you for your comments, and about Matthew. I think Matthew may be the most photographed baby in the 'world' lol, I have so many photos of him, and its only been 4.5 months. lol. And yes I will let you know about his first crawling experinece, lol, probably on the photo, lol.
Glad you liked the sunflower [sprayed with water hose, lol, the light was perfect, so I had to add to it, lol]
Anna :)
Thanks JD for your nice comment, and it is really appreciated that you actually stopped by with a cup of coffee. It is nice and personal gesture.
Lol, about the clouds, never really thought about falling back to the reality, or may be I am still dreaming, lol. Nice to hear that you had that fantasy also.
Yes Matthew is my little man, never thought of being old around him, lol, yet often compare my skin to his, his is much nicer, lol. However, he makes me so young around him, the things I do to entertain him - by the time I finish, I probably develop arthritis in all my joints, lol.
And I guess we have something in comment about the ukrainian church.
Again JD thanks for your kind comment, always appreciate your visit here.
Anna :)
Looking at clouds is fun, I am sure you get to see lot of it during your travels, especially, when in the middle of nowhere, lol.
Priyank thanks again, all your comments are appreciated, Anna :)
Thanks Kathy again for your nice comment about my photography, appreciated. Anna :)
I can see the gorilla for sure! Great shot. Matthew is a beautiful baby growing so quickly. You must be enjoying every minute with him!
