Yellow-Billed Cuckoo

Yellow-Billed Cuckoo spotted in MacGregor National Park back in May 2007.

This bird is also known as the 'Rain Crow'. Usually perches in thick forests or shrubs. It often sits motionless on the interior branches of the trees and eats mostly hairy caterpillars. However, it also feeds on other insects, larvae, and small berries or other fruits, and sometimes, when necessary, it feeds on small frogs and lizards and the eggs of other birds.
