Spring Full of New Beginnings & The American Goldfinch is Enjoying It

Things finally started to normalize, and I can actually sit and rest before bedtime. To tell you the truth, for me, it was a really nice break from the computer; however, at some point, I started to miss blogging. But sitting in front of the computer for eight hours at work and then at home was not doing me any justice. I think I started to become a computer geek, a virtual friend (I don't mind that part)—yes, the winter was too long, and I was exhausted from posting ideas too.
The spring finally arrived, and it is really starting to be beautiful around here. We now have rain, clouds, sun, and wind—everything the heart desires after a long, cold, and snowy winter—and yes, birds arrived too, as you can see above with one of my new visitors, the American Goldfinch [Carduelis tristis]. My backyard is full of life again. It is a new beginning, and I cannot wait until I can grab my knapsack again with my camera and start photographing birds, or everything else around me. Enjoy life and enjoy everything else that is going to come.

Secondly, I would like to thank everyone for the encouraging comments. We had a family emergency; however, everything is back to normal now. After that, I also took a personal break from blogging to get ready for the spring and complete some new home projects and preparations. I can finally breathe!

~ Anna

Hey Anna, good to see you back, love your Gold Finch, you are such an expert taking bird images, I tried the other day to take a pic of a duck, but he jumped up and dived into the pond, got a great shot of his/hers butt, lol

Nice bird :)
Glad your backyard becomes full of life, after a month's break you really have tonnes to read, take care.
Anna,I did not know about your family emergency, but I'm very glad to know things are normalizing. What a lovely photo of the Goldfinch. We have a feeder outside just with thistle seed and watch throughout all seasons. In my mind birds for all seasons are truly inspiring.

I, too, have been outside more since it both invigorates and energizes me.

Another beautiful shot, Anna. We are sooooo happy to have you back! You do just as much or as little as you need to. We all value your posts, and visits and comments on our sites, but understand the need to have priorities above and beyond blogging.

I was starting to get a little worried though, that Bob and JD were going to close the gap on your top commentator crown at my site. LOL!

I recognize that goldfinch. He is the little fellow that ate 2 gallons of my niger this last winter here in Texas. I thought I was going to have to take another job to support the golfinch's niger habit.

We have posted:

Anna- I certainly no what you are feeling, especially the spending 8 hours at the computer at work, then coming home and spending more time on the computer. Great shot of the goldfinch.

Hi! Anna. I'm glad you've rested. A recent study showed some bloggers are blogging themselves to ill health. So that bit of information should tell us all to slow down and appreciate what's around us, like our children, and not what's in front of us. i.e. the monitor.

Take Care,
Peter

A very good shot.
Interesting name Carduelis tristis,
in latin tristis means "sad",I wonder why...
Maybe this bird makes a sad sound?

Hello Anna, and welcome back! I had a huge gap in my blogging too, but I seem to have gone the opposite way now :) What a pretty little bird, it reminds me of what we call greenfinches here, but I doubt that it is the same one. Looking forward to reading again!
