The Biggest Moon of 2009 - Not Really

This is not the biggest Moon of 2009; however, it is only smaller by a few days and a bit eaten by the shadow. The weather did not cooperate this time, and I was very prepared for this moment.

But then, I look at this Moon today, and I see pomegranate. Now tell me, do I sound like I don't get out much these days? If you think yes, then you are absolutely right. This is how much I do get out: I took this picture from my office room about an hour ago, and to my surprise, it turned out to be perfect (to my standard), plus it looks like my favourite fruit. In addition, I snapped a few pictures of the lamps from across the street. Now, do you think I still need to get outside to get good results?
So what's on my plate for 2009? Well, I was going to tell you, but maybe I will surprise you. No, I am not going anywhere. Just minor changes to my blog layout and posts—general housekeeping. It's good to make a change just to get the energy going.

Lastly, a while ago, I wrote this a Story Blob blog post about children being killed during the war. Some of you read it, but I will re-link it again. It's just that the whole thing about Gaza attacks bothers me a lot. It is a complicated situation, but this needs to stop, and I feel helpless. I feel for the children, and I feel for the mothers who see their children die. It is a bit ironic that, without even thinking about it, I included dark pictures with this post, but there is always light and hope. I guess art can express emotions and feelings.

Hi Anna,

Just to let you know, you are posting wonderful stuff here at your blog.

And from what I have observed, it is not the design of the blog, it is what is inside that makes it popular and successful. The same thing applies to our lives. It is what is inside us that counts and make us go up.

Hey Anna

Great shot of the window. It projects a dark atmosphere...which I like. Oh, and of course your moon shot is excellent...as always.

You write "Its good to make a change just to get the energy going. You're right. A change in direction just to revitalize is a good thing.

Take care.

Hello Anna, another beautiful moon - one day I will be able to capture her like this, but I need a better camera I think :)

And here's wishing for a more peaceful New Year, for Gaza, for all of us, for all the children under the shadow of war.

So clear through the window - great job, Anna!

I agree with you on the Gaza conditions - so heartbreaking. We must keep them in our prayers.

take care,
Kathy
I think I lost my post.

Anna, what beautiful photos!!! The moon does look like pomegranates and the second photo has great dark and light colors. Awesome!!!

Your poignant story touched my heart. I wish war wouldn't have to happen in this day and age.

Hugs, JJ

Hi Anna,

What a gorgeous moon!! And you took it from your bedroom window? Girl, you are even more talented than I thought :D!
LOL I think you would get good results even if you wouldn't get out ever again: it is in your veins! However, I can't wait for Spring time...that way you and Matthew will be able to go out and take even greater photos :D!

Change is good! So, do your housekeeping, no problem!

Yes, I have read your post and I have commented it already...What is happening is sad, no doubt, but the Gaza population were the ones choosing their present situation by voting in the wrong terrorist organisation such as Hamas (those guys use women and children as human shields; it is as simple and tragic as that).

Cheers

Thanks Sandi. Ooops you are second person to think this is a window, actually this is just a outside lamp beside the garage. I went back to look at it again, and you know one can be actually fooled by this photo, lol. Thanks again, Anna :)

Thanks Bird. I know photography can be an expensive hobby. To get photos like this, it is mainly the lens that you will need, but of course you will need camera to go with the lens, lol.

Yes Gaza issue is terrible.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Kathy, you know my window is not even clear, lol. But the trick is that I can lean my lens on the window, so prevents from shaking, thus the crisp image.

Thanks again for your comment. Yes Gaza conflict is heartbreaking.

Oh my dear friend Max, you always make me laugh. No no talent girl, I tell you the truth, these days cameras do all the work, just need someone to click. Okay I will take a credit for it a bit, lol.

Yes I also cannot wait for spring. Oh just looking forward, it will be so much fun.

Thanks again for your comment on the other post, just little behind answering. You know how it is, lol.

But I know what you mean. The human shield is the worst thing a human would do to other human.

Thanks again may friend.

Thanks again,

Anna :)

Hi Anna - Love visiting your blog, so much to see and read. Your moon shot is stunning, you really have this down to a science. Great framing and dark contrasts on the window image. Hopefully, this year will see a better and more peaceful world. One thing that always impresses me about your site is the small image of you and your baby. You have a captivating smile and an adorable baby. The image portrays correctly, the warm and friendly person that you are.

Hi Anna!

"Oh my dear friend Max, you always make me laugh. No no talent girl, I tell you the truth, these days cameras do all the work, just need someone to click. Okay I will take a credit for it a bit, lol."

lol I am glad I make you laugh :)! lol...yes, take the credit...you deserve it!!

"Yes I also cannot wait for spring. Oh just looking forward, it will be so much fun."

I know it will!! Only two months away...time will fly!

"Thanks again for your comment on the other post, just little behind answering. You know how it is, lol."

You are welcome, girl! Yes, I know how it goes...don't worry!

"But I know what you mean. The human shield is the worst thing a human would do to other human."

It may not be the worst thing a human can do to another fellow human (I can think of one thing or two that can be worst)...but it shows a total lack of respect for life itself, and in this case an utter lack of respect for those who voted for them (thus depositing in them their trust that they'd improve their life and develop their country) *nodding*.

"Thanks again may friend."

My pleasure, darling :D!

Yes looks like the moon is now my specialty, lol, no science there, just steady hand for now, lol.

Thanks again John.

Hey Max, now I am curious, you said: 'It may not be the worst thing a human can do to another fellow human (I can think of one thing or two that can be worst) - what are you thinking girl?

You said: '...but it shows a total lack of respect for life itself, and in this case an utter lack of respect for those who voted for them (thus depositing in them their trust that they'd improve their life and develop their country) *nodding*.' - Max you are absolutely right.

Thanks Max for you continued support of my blog!!!!

Hey Oswegan, long time no see, lol. Thanks for the comment. Anna :)

Hi Ivanhoe, welcome to my blog and thank you for your comment. To take this picture I have 20D camera, but the trick ofcourse is the lens. I have Canon 100-400mm, and I also used to shoot with 75-300mm lens. However, any camera with good zoom should do the job. Hope that helps. Anna :) Oh and you need stead hand, or good support to eliminate movement.

Thanks Dick, as you can see I never have enough of the moon. Yes the Gaza is way too complicated. Hope things will get better, I just don't follow the news anymore. Thanks again, and I can see that you blog a bit. Moderation is the answer. Anna :)
